Basketball Play of the Week
"Power" Set Play Vs. Man
2 and 4 set up on the left side at the top of the key extended (2 wide and 4 at the left lane-line extended). 5 and 3 set up on the right side (5 on the low block and 3 in the corner). 1 makes a dribble-entry to the left side, while 4 pops out and sets a screen for 2. 2 V-cuts, uses 4's screen and breaks to the right side.
1 passes to 2 on the right wing. 5 pops out and sets a screen for 3, who makes a flex cut along the baseline and goes over the top of the screen. 4 pops out to the top on the left side. 2 looks to feed 3 for a quick score cutting to the basket.
After setting the screen for 3, 5 rolls and seals on the ball-side block, looking for a post feed from 2. 1 and 4 are on top on the left and 3 sets up on the weak-side low block.
If the post-up opportunity to 5 is not open, then 5 quickly breaks to the weak-side elbow, 3 cuts wide to the weak-side corner and 1 breaks to the top of the key. 2 now has isolation to try and score 1-on-1 against his or her defender. If that option isn't available, you can either run the same play to the other side or go into your motion offense.
