Basketball Play of the Week
Stagger From Box Set
From a box set, 1 makes a dribble entry up the left side of the floor and then comes over the top, coming off a pair of staggered screens set by 5 and 4 popping up. As 1 dribbles to the right, 3 pops up diagonally across the lane and sets a backscreen for 5 (screen-the-screener action). 5 uses the screen and rolls into post-up position on the ball-side low block. 1 looks to make an entry pass to 5 in the post.
As 5 is posting up, 3 and 4 set a staggered screen for 2, who uses the screens and pops to the top. If the entry pass to 5 isn't available, 1 quickly swings the ball over to 2 for a quick 3-pointer.
If 2 doesn't have a good look at the 3-point shot, then he or she swings the ball to 3 popping out wide to the wing area. 4 dives to the ball-side block and 5 flashes to the high post. the offense is now perfectly set up to run a 3-out, 2-in motion offense.
