AEBL Launches 2021 Summer Pro-Am Men’s & Women’s League

Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League (AEBL) kicked off its 8th season last weekend with many familiar faces but added some notable changes and upgrades to the league. Despite the Pro-Am Summer basketball league being canceled last year due to COVID-19 safety precautions, founder and league commissioner, Jah Rawlings, utilized this time to come back bigger and better than ever.

Not only did the league’s home gym undergo a major facelift, but the league officially expanded with its newly launched AEBL Women’s Pro-Am and Jr. AEBL Youth Leagues. AEBL Women, which debuted with 8 teams in its inaugural season, is managed with the assistance of Christina Granville, aka Ms. Basketball, and Portia Benbow. Fans can look forward to W-AEBL entertainment led by league MC, EP The Voice, and DJ Killa.

aeblAEBL Commissioner Jah Rawlings said, “Many people sleep on the women’s game and we feel AEBL can give women’s hoops a boost and provide a new energy in the city and the basketball community.”

The AEBL Men’s league consists of 12 teams this season and returns with familiar entertainment and sounds from league MC Bria Janelleand DJ B-Easy.  Last weekend AEBL unveiled its new league uniforms, which pay homage to the city it calls home. During halftime and timeouts, attendees can look forward to dribbling races, half-court shot contests, musical chairs, kids’ dance contests, and t-shirt tosses.
