Candidates Line Up For Florida Gulf Coast Job

The search is on for the next head coach at Dunk City. And not surprisingly there is no shortage of applicants.

Among those applying to be the next coach at Florida Gulf Coast University according to The (Fort Myers) News-Press are former NBA players like Eric Snow (an SMU assistant) and Anthony Peeler (a Virginia Union assistant). Former NBA coach Eric Musselman, now an assistant at Arizona State, has also applied.An assistant from Final Four team Wichita State, Chris Jans, has applied. So has Indiana assistant Tim Buckley.Florida State assistant Corey Williams has also thrown his hat in the ring.FGCU athletic director Ken Kavanagh said he hopes to find a replacement for Andy Enfield within a couple of weeks. Enfield took over as Southern Cal’s coach a week ago.One unnamed applicant missed the boat on FGCU’s run to the Sweet 16, humorously offering to help rebuild the program.”I was told you where [sic] looking for a head coach for the men’s basketball team, the applicant wrote in an e-mail obtained by the News-Press. If so I would love to turn your program around.”
