Coach Fighting For His Job Despite Budget Cuts

Willie Ray Brown, head basketball coach at Bruce High School (Miss.), and physical education teacher at an elementary school in the same district, recently lost his job due to budget cuts within the school district. Brown has 32 years of educational experience and 23 in Calhoun County schools. He believes he should have been reassigned to a different position while a teacher with less experience be let go. He said he doesn’t want anyone to lose their job but doesn’t see this situation being handled the right way.
