U Of Wisconsin’s Stone Wins No. 500

University of Wisconsin women’s basketball coach Lisa Stone earned her 500th career victory on Sunday when the Badgers defeated Indiana 75-49 at Assembly Hall.

Alyssa Karel had a game-high 21 points for the Badgers (13-10, 8-3), who broke open a close game by outscoring Indiana 18-3 over the last 5 minutes, 35 seconds of the first half to take a 39-25 lead at halftime. Karel accounted for 12 points during the run.

The first half saw five lead changes and one tie before Wisconsin went on its run.

Indiana never got closer than 12 points in the second half.

The Badgers led by at least 20 over the final 11:41 on their way to their largest margin of victory in Big Ten play this season.

Seniors Lin Zastrow and Tara Steinbauer chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
