“Featuring Fran Fraschilla, International Basketball Analyst for ESPN, former Division I college basketball coach (Manhattan College, St. John’s University and University of New Mexico), former NABC District II Coach of the Year and MAAC Coach of the Year.
Get ready to build a youth basketball program the right way! Fran Fraschilla has teamed up with Championship Productions and the AAU to produce an instructional video that gives you a blueprint for building a successful basketball program from the ground up.
Coach Fraschilla has coached major college basketball for 23 years and has watched his sons progress through AAU ball, high school and now into college. He knows what it takes to coach basketball and can help you develop the techniques, attitudes and organizational skills that improve your program, while having fun.
In this lecture style presentation, Fraschilla outlines everything you need to think about in order to build your philosophy and help you get it on paper so you can see your vision. He shares basketball wisdom and ideas such as: Concepts and qualities of a great point guard to lead your team. Things that can hamper your offensive performance regardless of how skilled your players are. Key concepts that will get your players to play together and play unselfishly. These ideas are reinforced with a handful of drills demonstrated on the court: 4-on-3 Lane Passing Drill, Post Feed and Cut Drill, the 45 Degree Cut Drill, and 3 Spots to 7 shooting drill.
Organizing a plan for practice will minimize unexpected problems and maximize player and team development. Coach Fraschilla details a practice philosophy that centers around 70% of the time dedicated to fundamentals in order to build your players’ skills and teach them how to play and compete at a high level. He will teach you how to get the most out of your practice time, gym time, equipment available, and coaching staff. He explains how to talk to parents and how to express want you wish to accomplish for the season for your team and program. New coaches can benefit from these insights and lay the foundation for a successful program for years to come, while veteran coaches can refine their own program. Tap into Fraschilla’s years of coaching experience and wisdom today! This series of videos was produced by Championship Productions in association with AAU (The Amateur Athletic Union).
